Quarna ran. She ran like she'd never run before. Te object in her arms bounced and slipped. She fumbled to catch it, breathing heavily at each step. "Stop theif!" called the lead gaurd behind her. She didn't listen, instead picking up her feet that much faster. All she had to do was get to Pyde, and she would be safe. She rounded the bend of the quaint town road, to the spot where Pyde was supposed to meet her. She stopped for a moment, resting one shoulder against the wall of a building, her eyes closed. When she opened them, expecting to find Pyde waiting with a grim smile. She saw the Prince, his hand holding a bloody sword, Pyde's headless body on the ground. "Surprise," the prince said, wiping his sword on Pyde's tunic. Quarna stood spellbound for a moment before her mind immediatly began to find an escape. Pyde wouldn't have let the Prince find his spell would he? So he must have hidden it somewhere. The prince sneered at her as she fell to her knees looking defeated, while under her blonde hair she was searching for some clue, a place where the spell was. "It's usless you know. You rebels will never be free. It's all a lie, what they tell you." He stepped over Pyde's useless body, placing his hand onto her chin, lifting it up. "Give me the item." Quarna didn't hear him, her eyes were locked on her reflection in his. A voice from what sounded from far away was telling her something. The speell... was, in her? And suddenly she knew it, right there on the tip of her tongue. Without a second thought she began to recite the spell under her breath. "Life from Life And Time from Time our spirits now, will disintwine
I part my soul, and journey to The place where I, am free of you."The Princes eyes widened in fright. Quarna was no longer there. His hand held empty air. His voice rose in an inhuman roar, his eyes wild for a moment, until his gaurds rounded the bend. "Find her!" He yelled, using the flat of his sword to beat his soldiers. "FIND HER!" ~*~*~ Jonah rose from his bed slowly. The college freshman had never been a morning person. From the other room he could hear his roomate making breakfast. "Jonah, food." he called placing the plate of pancakes on the table. Jonah lifted himself from the bed, his sight bleary-eyed from sleep. Before he presented himslef to his overly perky roomate, he checked his computer. On the Windows XP system was a special program that let him track wild or unkown magic, it was part of his job as a witch, what he had to do. He saw that a major blit had come up downtown. Jonah sighed, breakfast would have to wait, there was work to do. "I'll be right back." Jonah called, out the door. His roomate knew he was a witch, though Rick wasn't one himself, and had often made excuses for Jonah. "Kay," was the reply. Jonah held out his hand and called, "pants" in a swirl of white lights a pair of jeans appeared in his hands. The half whitelighter smiled as he slipped them on, his sleevless PJ shirt would be enough for this quick jaunt. Jonah closed his eyes and thought of downtown. His disappearenced was marked by his swirl of white lights. Jonah appeared behind a dumpster, scaring a cat on his entry. He looked out to the busy sidewalk. People rushed to and fro on business, most with cell phones to their ears. There was only one person not sure of where she was, or where she was going. She was dressed in a very late victorian style dress, her hair matted from lack of washing, holding in her arms a wrapped bundle. Jonah walked up to her, and tapped on her shoulder. Quarna jumped. She turned, her free hand rising in a flicking motion. The busy downtown street stopped. "What are you doing, what if someone came around the corner?" He grabbed her arm, dragging her behind the dumpster. "I'm sorry, I thought you were the prince." She raised her hand agian, and the street rolled back into motion. "Are you here to help me?" she asked her eyes pleading. "Yes, just hold onto me." He held out his hand, she took it questioningly. With her hand firmly in his, he orbed out. ~~~~*~~~~ OOC: I felt like writing something Charmed-esce. This just seemed to work. You guys can write as someone from Quarna's world, or Jonah's. Feel free to write for Rick, or the Prince. We need some villians, I can't write everyone. For more infomation on this brand of magic, watch Charmed C or visit the charmed ones.com/book of shadows

Jonah and Quarna reappeared in the "greatroom" of Jonah's apartment. The small space had so much junk crammed into it, a small T.V. an old loveseat salvaged from the side of the road, a larger pull out couch that served as Rick's bed (the apartment only had one bedroom) two endtables, and coofetable. Rick was sitting at the dining table that "separated" the kitchen from the living room. He had a pancake halfway in his mouth, his eyes wide.
"Oh come on, you've seen worse," Jonah told the college sophomore. Rick just stared.
"Yeah, but you've never come home with a woman before." and it was true, in the three months that the two guys had lived together, and for the years they had known eachother before, Jonah had never brought home a girl. Rick had begun to wonder...
"Well she won't be here for long if we don't help her." Jonah attempted to take the parcel from her.
"NO!" Quarna yelled, raising her hand in a much more substantial motion, the lamp next to the loveseat exploded into a million pieces. "No one can touch it, I promised Pyde nothing would happen to it." Tears welled in her eyes at the thought.
"Well then I know just where it should go." Jonah took her hand and led her to his bedroom. Once they were there he waved his hand at the opposing wall, the window shimmered out of view, to be replaced by a large cabinet. "This is where I Keep my most important potion ingredients. You can put it there while we go shopping."
"Shopping?" Quarna asked as she opened the cupboard to place her charge inside. "You have a market here? What could you possibly need? You have moving boxes, talking boxes, light boxes, what more could you need?"
"Not me," Jonah said as he slipped a clean T-shirt over his head, then looked in the mirror to check if his hair was messed up just so. "You. You can expect to go around downtown LA dressed like that." Jonah smiled. "And your hair needs some attention. Come on, your lucky its saturday and I had nothing planned." Quarna closed the cabinet and he waved his hand again, it vanished from view. She took his pro-offered hand again.
"Rick! We're going out to by..." Quarna told him her name "Quarna some clothes. Wanna come?" He asked as he led the woman to the door.
"Nah, I have Bev coming over later. I need to get ready." He raised his eyebrows at the insinuation. Jonah just laughed and led Quarna to his car.
~*~*~*~ Come on people, get invovled, I wnat to see some action, I can't have all the fun!

(I'm getting involved...I told you I would within time...Specifically later today, which is now...Now then...*Thinks of whom she might want to be.* Witch or mortal...Hmmmm...) Maniah sighed. Business hadn't been going well in the past few days. Magical wise or clothing. Sure a customer or two would enter her cheery little shop in the heart of LA but not bothered to buy one darned thing. No newt's eye nor scarf. It was very depressing, even her comforting lavender walls that surrounded her gave her no comfort as they usually did. She brushed back a strand of her raven hair with a few neon blue streaks throughout it and glanced down at her inventory sheet. She needed to restock on more of the magical potion items then she did with her clothing. The mortals didn't particularly care for them like the witches, wizards and warlocks did, but ever since the prices had to go up a bit they decided to go to the lesser quality, cheeper store down the street. Understanable in some respects but in others it just plainly pissed her off. Eventually she gave up and put her head down on the table top in front of her and groaned. "When is anyone going to be coming?" She closed her forest green eyes and gave a heartfelt sigh. Perhaps she should close. It wasn't like her products were over the top expensive...She even had mortal styles that were at normal prices. People were just too cheap nowadays and wanted the cheapest things they could find. Weither it be crap or not.

"C'mon you'll like it. I've been coming here for years." Jonah led his reluctant charge into the quaint shop. The shop was great for all your magical needs as well as the personal ones. And Jonah had learned from experience that one could never replace quality with quantity.
"Hey Maniah, I've got another one." He led Quarna to the counter, her hair still damp from their trip to the salon. The blond locks were shortened consideably, and now framed her face better. Jonah had spared her nothing today, letting her get hilights that gave her hair more depth and paying for a top of the line style, he'd even let her get her nails done. Now as he entered the little shop he hoped his long time friend, and fellow witch would give his wallet a much needed brake, and help Quarna deal with her time jumping sickness.
~*~*~*~*~
The prince paced back and forth next to Pyde's body. "Your plan didn't work, she escaped. I thought you lost the spell." He growled to the shadows. With a wave of his hand the illusion of Pyde's decapitated body vanished, and the real Pyde stepped out from the shadows.
"I wiped it from my mind, but I had already given it to her before you gave me your generous offer." The dark-skinned man scowled right back at the Prince, his one chance at a gryphon had been lost because the foolish girl had thought to look inside herself. But he still might have a chance to get it back.
"Where did your spell send her?" The Prince brandished his sword in spite, he knew he couldn't hurt the mage, he was too powerful.
"I don't know. But I can track her. It will take some time and access to your stores." Pyde grinned at the Prince, not a hint of glee in his smile.
"Fine but if you trick me mage..." The Prince let the threat dangle. He may not be able to beat Pyde on his own, but he was only one mage, and the Prince had a full college of magic users at his side.
~~~~*~~~~ *Gasp* Pyde, a villian? where will this twist end our heros next? stay tuned to find out.
(Lol...You're too funny Pat...) Maniah lifted her head from the counter in front of her and smiled brightly. Jonah, her long time friend had come to visit her. His presence made all foolish ideas of closing lift from her mind and rushed from behind the counter and over it, instead of taking the long way around to hug him. "Long time no see. Where might you have been?" she asked him joyously while putting him in a death grip from her hug. She hadn't even noticed the girl that came in with him until she released him and another person caught sight in her perefrial vision. Her eyes shot over to the girl and looked suspiciously from one to the other. She was pretty enough. Had he finally gotten a girlfriend? A slow anger began to rise at that thought. She had liked Jonah for the longest time, and yet he had never taken note of it. "And who might SHE be?" she asked him, still looking between the two.
"I was out and about." Jonah relpied lazily. "Magic gets in your way sometimes." he shrugged. "But I'm here now and this fine lady is Quarna, she's from another dimension." Quarna waved meekly. "And as you can see, her clothing isn't exactly what she needs." Qaurna was dressed in an oversized T-shirt and a pair of jeans that we're obviosly not her's. She held them up to her very thin hips with one hand. "And before you say anything, no she's not my girlfiend, she's not my type."
Maniah's smiled turned from slightly sour to wholehearted. "Well then I think we can help you." Maniah took her hand and led her to a changing room in the back. Jonah watched as teh shop-owner ran through her selection to bring Quarna style after style to try on. Quarna tried on skirts and pants, shirts and bra's, each style being shown to her consorts. After a good hour of trying on, Quarna had a decent wardrobe that would suit her here. Maniah rang it up. Jonah stared at the cashregisters screen.
"What?!"
~*~
Pyde scoured book after book on magical tracking. He had to find her and those eggs, they were his ticket to rule. Stupid girl, why did she have to fight the Prince, she was pretty enough, and could have made a good queen. But she had to be defiant! He smiled as he found the spell he required. He lifted his crossbow and laughed as he vanished from view. His voice drifting out of the open window as he vanished.
"Your mine, girl, your mine..."
~~~~*~~~~ OOC: Steph, I hope you don't mind if I used Maniah a bit, I would hope you trust me to not abuse her. If I overstepped my bounderies tell me and we can change it.

(I suuppose it's okay...I'll forgive you but could you try to not do that too often? I guess me and wanting to keep my characters all to myself...*shrugs* Must be character jealousy. Anywho, I can understand why you did that this time, to hurry it up and not have boring posts, but please try to keep it to a minimum unless it's utterly needed.) Maniah sighed. "You know business hasn't exactly been well but..." she said before pressing a button on the cash register which took off 30% of the bill, making it a bit more of a reasonable price, "Since you're my friend and loyal costumer I suppose I can give you this stuff for as cheap as I can." She looekd at Jonah's face to see a more pleased expression then that of before and nodded. She'd give him a discount anytime he wanted, well, unless she was about to close due to money matters; then she wouldn't be able to. In any case she looked at Quarna. "If I may say so myself I think I did a good job..." she said with a smile. She then got distracted from this and looked at Jonah. "So now where are you two going to head off to?" she asked curiously.

"Thanks, I know how hard its been. We're all in the same boat what with this oil business. I'd pay full for ya but I already spent this weeks paycheck at the salon and the ear piercers. I'm using next week's pay check now." He passed his debit card across the counter. "I can't let Rick buy all the food." Quarna noticed a small smile crossed Jonah's face as he spoke of Rick.
That's odd. she thought as she turned to examine herself in the full length mirror infront of her. She had traded in her torn, soiled dress that she had worn as a baggery girl at the palace, for a pair of fitted jeans, a denim blue oxford vest and white shirt, cute studs and the coolest fuzzy boots that looked like foax-alpaca wool and came up to the bottom of her jeans. One thing she knew, she was never wearing another one of those tight, heavy dresses as long as she lived, these clothes were much more comfortable.
Maniah and Jonah had fitted her out with all the nessesities, bra's, skirts, evening wear, and the like. She had been surprised by Jonah's knowledge in these things. She may have been from another dimension, but she knew that most men didn't really care what they wore, as long as it fit.
"Oh and while I'm here, I need some more rosemary, thyme and I'm almost out of mandrake root." Jonah said as he helped Maniah bag Quarna's new wardrobe. "So we'll need to see your back room. After that we have something back at the appartment that I think you'd love to see, if you can close up shop early." His voice held real exitment in his voice. "Please?" He pleaded giving her big puppy dog eyes.
~*~~~*~ Pyde appeared outside of a mens clothing store. He recieved only a few startled glances at his arrival, most mortals copping it up to bad eyesight. He looked at the window display of models in designer suits, and the latest fashion styles.
I think I need to change my look a little. under his breath he said three words. The black pinstriped armani suit from the display vanished from the window and replaced Pyde's sweat stained tunic and leggings. Leather shoes formed around his feet and grew to his size. This all happened in the blink of an eye, and fortunatly, eaveryone had conviently gotten a large piece of dust in their eye right then.
Pyde smiled and tuned himself in to Quarna and the eggs. He opened his eyes, smiling maniacially.
"I've got you girl, nowhere to hide."

(Bum bum bum...Sorry, just had to.) "It's understandable enough..." Maniah said as she slid the debit card down the swipe and waited for the transaction to be made. She never noticed the certain smile that played across Jonah's face when he spoke of Rick, and even if she had, would never had thought anything of it in all her years. After the transaction eventually was made; she really needed to update to the faster connection; she nodded. "Fine by me my good friend." She said with a smile before opening the door for Jonah and Quarna to enter instead of having to hop over the counter. She then went to the darker lavender silk-like curtain that shaded the ingrediants from mortal eyes and opened pyushed it aside to enter to go look for the items needed. The silk-like material had a spell put on it, because it was see-through, so that when mortals happened to look over all they saw was more clothes that were still in the wrappings they were delivered in. She went to a nearby shelf and began looking down the alphabetically ordered items. "Thyme, rosemary, and madrake root you said, yes?" she asked as she searched the numerous items. As she searched she heard Jonah's last comment and looked over to see his pleading face and couldn't help but smile. "Well...I..." she contemplated but soon her heart tugged at her. Why not spend more time with the guy you like? "Alright." she said with another smile before going back to the task at hand. (I think drama would be a very fun thing to add here...Even though I now already know how Jonah is )

After closing the shop, which mostly constituted turning the sign to closed and locking the door (there were anti-burglary spells all over so an advanced security system was obsolete), The three witches grabbed hands and Jonah orbed them back to his place. After situating Quarna in a temporary space claudication (you basically twist the current space to make it think its something else, like Jonah's potion cabinet.) and Checking to see that Rick had gone food shopping ("See I told you he was buying all the food!" Jonah told Maniah) the three witches went into Jonah's bedroom and closed the door. With a wave of his hand, the cabinet swam into view.
Quarna walked purposfully up to it and opened it's door. She pulled out the bundle wrapped in her old worn blanket.
"This is what I took from the Princes chambers, after he was finshed with me." She spat the words out, her hatred of what the Prince did to his female witches, tortured them, used them for his own gain, drove the will out of them, in the only way he knew how. "These were what Pyde told me to get."
She uncovered the bundle and two eggs about the size of footballs rolled onto the bedspread. She took from the blanket a single feather about the size of a turkey feather, but white lined with electric blue.
"Gryphon eggs." Maniah gasped.
"So you've heard of these beaasts?" Jonah's question more statement of fact. "I've read that the young were captured often and trapped in sheilds. It was said that one couldn't speak lies around them." Jonah continued. "And that if one was present at a gryphons hatching, they could bond with them, and at adulthood ride them."
"Yes, the King had used his Riders as a sort of police force, keeping the peace and the like." Quarna said. "When he was murdered and his half-brother the Prince took the throne, they turned into rebels, opposing the tyranny and starting the Rivals against the Prince." Quarna drew an unsteady breath her face covered by her hair. "But all of them and their gryphons were killed, only these two eggs were saved. A male and female, to rebuild the Riders." Quarna stroked one of the pale mottled blue eggs.
"Who was the King's rightful heir?" Jonah asked, looking into Quarna's face.
Quarna looked up from the egg, her eyes full of tears, her voice strained. "Me."
~*~*~*~*~ OOC: Bum, bum buuuummmmmmmmmm..... Quarna, a princess? What will this mean for our heros. And will Maniah ever figure out Jonah's secret. And why _did_ Pyde switch sides? Stay tuned to find out!

Maniah starred at her. Already startled from seeing actual gryphon eggs that she had only seen before detailed in books she had behind the counters of her shop; incase she needed to make a potion or two for a customer; she was even more startled with this piece of informtation. "You're a...Princess?" Maniah asked. This was obviously a dumb question in the least but couldn't help but ask it. It made no sense if she was. Why the hell would she be in torn rags and in such a horribly dirty condition and show up in this world if she was a Princess? Maniah saw the tears in Quarana's eyes and couldn't do anything but frown before going to give the newcomer a hug. "It's okay...I'm sure we can help you one way or another." (Will they indeed be able to help Quarana out? Will Maniah finally figure out that Jonah will never like her in that way no matter what she does? Will this generation be able to help rebreed the gryphons, an obviously endangered animal now? Stay tuned to To Save a Kingdom to find out!!!)

Also if you can't read this Un-Godly long post in one sitting please skip to the bottom there is some muy importante stuff in my closing comments.)
Quarna smiled at the warm reception of her biggest secret. But she could tell that they both wanted to know why she was playing the Princes personal sex toy and dressed like a popper.
"When my father was murdered. I was only twelve. My widowed mother felt me too young to rule, and didn't have the flair for leadership or magic my father had. So she asked my father's brother. There was a breif courtship, and next thing I knew, my uncle was Prince. He was never called King, that wasn't his title. Though he wished it was. He killed my mother, well actually she was killed on a circuit of the Kingdom, bu tI know it was by his hand. He would have killed me too, but said I had a pretty face, so he kept me for his personal needs. I sat and waited, and watched for the chance to get my Kingdom back." Quarna had gotten control of herself. "That's why I stole the eggs, so I could find Riders for them and take back my birthright."
"Well we'll help you in any way we can. Won't we Maniah?" Maniah nodded her head in agreement.
The two of them heard the door open wide as Rick returned with the groceries. "There's more out in the car." He called as he set the ones in his hands down on the kitchen table. Behind him came another man about Quarna's age of 23, he had dark brown hair and shocking green eyes set in an all-together flattering face. He was tall, about 6'2", and lean and fit. He had on good fitting jeans, and a T-shirt that said "Odssey of the Mind" in big bold print.
"Oh, Gerret said he'd help seeing as he wasn't doing anything and I rang the buzzer for five minutes and nothing happened." Rick looked over at Quarna. "Well, my, my don't you just look fashionable." Quarna blushed. Gerret looked up from his bags at Quarna, and his mouth dropped. There was something about her that was just intoxicating. He cuoldn't take his eyes off of her. He walked up, butterflies suddenly in his stomach, he hadn't felt like this since High School.
"Hi, I'm Gerret." He said shakily as he held his hand out to her. She took it, smiling warmly.
"I'm Quarna." she said happily, looking into his eyes. The Goddess bless it but he was HOT. She hadn't felt like this since her first restday and she had picked her own man to bed, instead of the Prince.
"That's a wonderful name. You're not from around here are you?" Gerret asked, his eyes not leaving hers.
Jonah and Maniah came back with the rest of the bags. They took one look at the two of them and Jonah smiled. "Spiritik." They said in unison.
"What?" Rick was really confused. His best buddy from down the hall was making goo-goo eyes at someone he'd never met.
"Spiritik, when to magical soulmates meet, sometimes it can be instantainious." Maniah explained to him. "Apparently Gerret is magically inclined." she smiled. "and the Goddess has blessed their relationship."
"It's also very rare. There hasn't been such a strong looking Spiritik since the 1800's." Jonah continued "There are varying degrees, from regular courtship to instantanious realization, sometimes one side doesn't realize at first. Often times the two magical beings will end up with shared powers after a time." Jonah smiled at his friend. "It's perfectly safe and as natural as a regular courtship, the people just notice it sooner."
He had neglected to mention that it could happen with a magical/non-magical pairing. And he didn't want to admit it, heck he could barely admit it to himself let alone anyone else, but he had felt a tug in his heart ever since he moved in here.
Quarna and Gerret were oblivious to their friends in the room. Their hearts, and minds were mingling, and they could no longer resist the urge, Gerret leaned down and Quarna stood on her toes, and the two kissed. It wasn't a deep throughted one, even if it was passionate, and there was a sense of rightness to the feeling.
The physical connection had opened their minds to each other on a broader level. Quarna shifted through his mind, it smelled like damp moss and animal musk.
Your a whisperer! she gasped in her mind. The thought surprised them and their kiss broke momentarily. Once it had resumed, Gerret replied.
Yes, a life whisperer. I can sense and commune with animals and plants. He told her through her mind. Your from Torval, a Princess and has the power to stop time and explode objects through your hands.
You seem to know all about me. Quarna told him as their kiss deepened. By now the others had noticed the pairs passionate kissing.
"Hey stop that!" Rick yelled. The new couple stopped, their clothes messed up, their hair wild, and looked at him.
"What?" They asked in unison, and smiled. Rick never got a chance to explain, for at that moment Through the un-locked door came a tall dark man in a black pinstriped suit.
"I've been looking for you." Pyde said with a smirk.
~*~*~*~*~ I'll let you handle the start of the battle Steph, and if you want to backtrack a bit and let Maniah have some thinking time as they explain Spiritik (I think she may at least start to realize that Jonah and her aren't soulmates) you can. The timeline doesn't have to be straightforward. (ha get it _straight_-forward. Ahahaha! I crack myself up) One more thing this RP isn't so much Charmed anymore, so you can use any form of magic you want Steph, have fun with it! Also you can start writing for Rick if you want.

(Consider it done. Now taking over Rick. Rick is now mine, you can no longer have him. Muhahahahahaha!!! Okay, I'm done...And yes I got the joke, quite funny indeed.) Maniah sighed. Spiritik. Why did she seem to have one side of the Spiritik and Jonah the other. She obviously realised it, and he hadn't. Or...No, it wasn't possible. Her feelings for him were not just a mere crush. They were so much more. They belonged together. Period the end. End of story. She starred at the new couple for a few moments, wishing it was her and Jonah and sighed as she heard Rick yell at them to stop. She felt a new energy in the presence of them and turned just in time to see the new face come in through the door. The energy seemed evil and commanding. It didn't seem to be directed at her or anyone else in the room...Except Quarna. Maniah glared at the new comer. "You have no business being in here sir and you will have to leave. You can either do it willingly or by force. Pick your choice." Rick looked at Maniah. Never in all his days had he seen Maniah be so protective. Like a Mother bear protecting her cubs. Even though Rick was not magical in the least, it was obvious this guy was very bad. Plus he didn't belong in his dorm room. "Hey, dude...Come on...Whoever you are, you got to leave..." he said ushering him out with a point to the door and turning the man towards it and pushing him there slightly. (Okay all better now.)

Pyde raised his hand and Rick shot across the room, slamming into the coffee table and breaking it.
"No you will not harm me hear, traitor. I am above your abuse, and the Prince's." Quarna raised her arms in a quick motion and Pyde's arm exploded. Gerret gasped. Pyde stared at his stump for a moment, before it regrew into a full hand.
"Tut, tut, girl, you should no by now that that won't work." Pyde's hand twitched. Jonah raised his hand.
"Lamp," he called. It vanished in a swirl of white lights, and reappeared before Pydes head, smashing into it. Pyde stumbled. Gerret's hair was moving as if in a strong wind, a green aura glowing about his body. The potted plants on te fridge grew to great lengths and wrapped themsleves around Pyde. Scowling, he shimmered out of the room.
"Did he just shimmer, like a demon?" Jonah asked lifting rick up off the busted table. He held his hands over Ricks back, his hands glowing as he healed him.
"Yes," Quarna said shakily. "He must have infused his blood with a demons, to steal their powers." She reached behind her for Gerrets hand, he offered it willingly. Jonah had moved away from Rick and onto the table, his healing powers fixing the broken wood.
A hum began to ring through the apartment. The mortal and most of the twentyfirst century residents looked around oddly for a moment. Quarna and Gerret (because he was a whisperer) knew where it came from.
"The eggs." Quarna gasped and went to get them from the bed. She placed them on the thick carpet infront of the couch. One rocked and wobbled, a long crack down it side. The other wobbled meekly. Gerret leaned over her shoulder.
"Gryphons?" he asked
"Yes." Quarna said taking his hand from behind her.
"Who will ride them? You?" Maniah asked
"No, I must rule the kingdom, and a Rider can never rule." She looked at Jonah. "Besides, the gryphon chooses, not he rider." she continued simply. The larger egg had a hole in it and the humans saw a big brown eye look through before it continued its rocking. The smaller one suddenly shattered and a tiny wet beak broke through, crying hungrliy.
It had white feathers speckled and lined with a light blue. Its beak was grey and it's eyes were the color of an autumn sky. It made a mad dash for Jonah. His eyes grew wide.
"She wants me?" he asked his eyes full of wonder.
"Well if you know she's a she surely." Quarna relpied happily, gald her new friend was so accepting. "What are you going to name her?" she asked.
"Sky."
(OOC: okay steph I let you do Ricks bonding. But Rick HAS to bond with the male Gryphon or I'll take him back. *wags finger threatingly* I mean it!)

(Okay, okay.) Rick peired over Jonah's shoulder in bewilderment and smiled at his new friend's pet. He sat down on the bed and looked down at the next egg. It rattled violently for a few moments before a beak pecked at the shell and soon enough another little gryphon popped out. It had light grey feathers speckled with a bit of a goldish tint and it's eyes were that of a light blue. The beak was a light orange as well. The gryphon looked about the people and ran to Rick. Rick looked down at it and then at Jonah. "Ummm...does this mean it picked me?" he asked anyone in particular that would answer. He looked back down at it which seemed to be jumping up an down, wanting to be held and Rick picked it up. "Hey little guy..." he cooed to it. Maniah smiled. "Oh, yes, he likes you alright...You are officially a rider Rick." she smiled. Rick smiled and decided upon a name. "I think you'll be named Orin." he said with a smile. The bird looked up at him, quite pleased and snuggled up to him.
