Her eyes flashed a crimson red as she gazed at the dancers in the club. Why did mortals always get all the fun? Of course she could lure a man or two and have some fun of her own, but still. Mortals attracted mortals. Likewise, "mythical" creatures usually, without using mind power, attracted "mythical" creatures. It was a common cycle, like the world was made to be that way. Vampires were only supposed to like vampires, not lycans who were their sworn enemy since the beggining of time. Yet she had seen some of the oddest things in her short lifetime of 350 years, and other mythical creatures liking others that weren't their kind was no exception. She sighed as she took a gulp of her eery looking green beverage and then proceeded to stare at the counter. Her name was Catrisa, a cat demon. She had raven hair that always seemed to get in her eyes which were of a forest green. To match her hair, two cat ears were perked up above her head and her tail, flicked furiously as if it had a mind of its own. She continued to drink her beverage, awaiting the company of someone who wasn't a mortal, someone who had SOME of the same interests as her. Specifically another demon, but anything known to be "mythical" would do.

A man of average height stepped through the doorway and into the club. It had begun to rain lightly outside, so his auburn hair was speckled with droplets. Making his way deeper into the throng of living people (and a few unliving) his chocolate brown eyes glanced quickly around the crowd for an available seat. Finding one, he was quite happy to see that the vacant seat was next to an attractive cat-demon. A subtle smile spread across his lips, and his fangs pointed out. His name was Macon, and he was a vampire. Even a mortal would consider him young, though. His own mortal family was still alive. He had only been aflicted with his dark gift for 27 years. As a recent vampire, it made him still act much like a mortal. Macon would deny it, of course.
Macon took his seat next to the cat-demon and asked for a drink. Since last time he tried to hit on someone he recieved a literal smack across the face, he decided it best to just quietly enjoy his drink and see if she made the first move.

The cat demoness looked over to see the newcomer, but said nothing as she sipped her drink. Her senses had been off since she arrived from the demon realm. She came from it about every twenty years or so to see how this world was coming along; and each time she was to find it becoming worse and worse. After a few sips more of her drink she finally realised that the man beside her was not a mortal and perked up. She smiled over at him and spoke. "Hello...What's your name?" she asked him a bit abruptly.

Macon held back a sigh of relief. He was getting worried that he'd have to start the conversation. He looked back at her and gave her a smile of his own, his fangs protruding again. "My name is Macon, and what might yours be, my dear?"

"Catrisa..." she said with a smile of her own. "Want a drink?" she asked him before calling te bartender over and ordering another of her already finished drink and waiting for Macon to tell the bartender what he wanted.

Macon grined and chuckled softly. "I'm afraid that this place may not sell the kind of drink that I'm interested in. But don't worry, I'll be alright." The bartender look a little offended, thinking that Macon was being stuck up. After he left Macon added, "Sometime tonight I may stop at a blood bank, though. THEY should have what I need." Deciding that if a mortal heard his current conversation he or she may get curious, so he switched topics. "Catrisa, you say? Sounds lovely... It suits you." Yes, Macon knew that he was being perhaps a little corny, but some girls liked corny.

She smiled at him. "Why thank you..." she said at his compliment to her name. "My name was meant to suit me." she said with another smile. Her smile then grew bigger as a thought came into her head. "Tell me...Can you sense who's blood would taste best in this room?" she asked him just above a whisper before looking about the room. Her mishievious cat side of her was coming out.

Macon considered her question for a few moments. "I suppose you could call it that... But it's more like a... 'common Sense' among vampires. For example, that man," he said, pointing out a drunken wastrel, "would taste aweful. The manner in which a person lives their life affects how their blood will taste. The better the person, the better the blood's quality." His eyes scanned the patrons in the club. "See that one down there? The man those women are flocking over? Judging the quality of his clothes, teeth, and all of the attention he's recieving I can assume that he's doing extreamly well for himself. His blood, perhaps," the grin on Macon's face took a more sinister appearance, "would be some of the best around here." He turned his attention back to Catrisa. "Are you curious to see a vampire drain someone, kitten?"

She smiled. "Wasn't exactly what I was thinkning..But I never have seen that before, weither in the demon realm or here...So it would be interesting..." she said, smiling at him.

"Oh, you were thnking of something else?" Macon couldn't quite figure out what else she might have meant. "I'd be happy to show you, but do tell what it was you were considering."

She smiled. "It was nothing..." she said to him. Her idea was somewhat stupid in fact. She was usually the peaceful type. But she was now quite interested in seeing a vampire at work. She had intended on luring the most tasty looking human towards them so she could peacefully have them "lend" their blood for a drink or two...But after being able to see a vampire at work? No she'd rather see someone have their blood sucked out.

"If you insist." Macon cast his eyes back onto the human, thinking about how best to get him. "He's had a number of drinks already, he's probably wasted to the point where the girls around him will start to loose interest. So, given that he'll probably just stumble out of here by himself... All that we have to do is offer him a ride and head out back somewhere." He could hardly wait to sink his fangs in the man's neck. A few minutes later the women began to disperse from the man's company, and he stumbled to his feet. Macon looked back at Catrisa and softly said, "Shall I do all of the talking? You'd be able to get a much better idea at how the process works if you simply watch, but I wouldn't deny you if you decide you want to join in a little as well."

She smiled. "No...No, I'll watch...I'm better at observing..." she told him truthfully. Yet another one of her cat-like qualities of many.

He nodded and raised himself from his seat. "Just follow me." Macon lead her out of the bar and into the night air. Street lamps and light from advertising signs light things up pretty well. The back alleys were left plenty dark, however. The man was trying to hail a taxi, but in his drunken stupor was having trouble remembering how. He had resorted to just shouting "OOOOOI! 'EY YOU! ... (bleep) YOU!" Macon chuckled to himself and silently approached the man. He staggered and nearly fell, but Macon caught him. "Careful there; do you need a ride, sir?" The man nodded, and using Macon for support steadied himself again. "Where's your car..?" Macon began to lead the man into the closest alley. "Just a little ways off. We'll just take a short-cut." After leaving the light and being plenty submerged in the dark, Macon swiftly pressed the man against the wall. He pinned the doomed man's wrists to his chest and placed his free hand around the backside of the man's head and back over to his face. As of now the man's mouth was covered with Macon's hand, his arms and legs were pinned, and so Macon jerked the man's head to the side and sank his fangs deeply in his neck. This all happened in under three seconds, and now Macon was quite enjoying himself. He felt the blood of his victem pulse through him, and his dead heart began to beat breifly in time with the man's. Macon was squeezing the man so tightly that his chest was about to be crushed. As his blood was drained, the man struggled less and less. His face grew pale and what feeble movements he made seemed meak. Macon, however, gained some helathy color in his face. The man died before all of his blood was gone, so Macon was forced to drop him.
With a long, happy sigh Macon relaxed and allowed his arms to fall at his sides. His eyes were closed and some blood was still on the edge of his mouth. "Stopping is by far the hardest part of it all..." he murmered quietly. As he spoke blood could be seen inside his mouth. He was much to relaxed to even wipe it away. With his eyes still closed, he continued to speak. "It's hard, but it must be done. Continuing to drink from someone who's dead can kill a vampire..." Macon wiped his mouth clean with a handkerchief from his pocket. He licked his teeth clean and placed the handkerchief back into his pocket.
