Maniah nodded. It couldn't be that hard...she had been trying to perfect poisons forever and she knew just how to make one that was potent enough to kill and cause great pain but was tasteless, orderless and colorless all at the same time. It was the perfect poison and with that in mind she got right down to work on making it. She pulled out numerous herbs and other items from cabinets near by in the storage room and rushed over to the nearest cauldron. "This should be a piece of cake..." she said as she began quickly chopping up a fern of some sort. Rick smiled, thinking nearly the same exact thing as Jonah had. "Alright." he agreed before taking out his sword. "A good practice it shall be."

Quarna smiled and went on her way to prepare for battle. This was it, as she walked her way up to the Tavern once more she began to feel the nerves set in. What if she couldn't do it? What if she died? She stood at the doorway to her chambers, and sighed. She couldn't do it, she was just one person. She suddenly felt the presence of so many minds on hers, all trying to get in. Flits of encouragement floated through.
"We are here for you."
"I would never let you die, my love."
"Don't worry hun, we'll make it together."
"It'll all be alright sweetie, you'll see."
"You'll do fine, Queen."
The last comment swelled her with confidence. yes she was a queen and she could do this. Without a further thought she walked into the room and had her footmen suit her for battle.
~*~*~ Jonah smiled and tossed Rick a sword, who caught it only slightly awkwardly. Without warning Jonah lunged, aiming for Ricks side.
~*~*~ Gerret continued to lead his men and women, giving encouragement and support where needed. Then he saw it. Straining at the reins, being pulled by a huge force of shaggy haired oxen, were two juvenile dragons. Their nostrils smoked and they roared defiantly as they pulled at their bonds, trying to escape and reek havoc. Gerret gasped.
I think we may have a problem.

(How come I have a feeling that Rick was the one who said that last comment???XD Probably cause I told him to call her Queen earlier...Right? Or was that not planned at all?) Rick quickly dodged the sword and joined Jonah's with his own in a defensive move. "I must say, that right there was a surprise...First you want to love me, then you want to slice me open?" he asked wsith a slight jokingness to his tone. He then lifted his sword and went for Jonah's left calf.
Maniah rushed about in the room and added this and that to the potion that she was making as it slowly boiled. She looked about for some sort of stirring item and found a stick that would surfice. Soon she saw all the colors from the different items that she placed in merge into one clear liquid. all the escenses that she had smelled disappeared within the next momement and she knew there would be no taste, as she had tested this before and made sure she had the antidote handy when she did. There was more than enough of it, which was most likely best incase she had the oppurtunity to go back and forth more than once. She soon found a small vile and filled it to the brim before putting on the stopper and then thought of how she'd carry it if she were an animal...If she were a cat it could go around her neck as some sort of collar, as a mouse, it might be harder. She turned to face Qui. "Is it possible that I can choose which shape I take?" she asked him.

The old man just nodded.
~*~*~ Quarna came out of her chambers in full regalia. She was wearing a thick leather skirt that came down to her knees over a pair of biker shorts she had had Jonah buy for her back on earth. Her boots went to above her knees and were thick leather to protect her. Her top was made of elven metal and liaght and movable, yet tough as gollum hide. She picked up her bow from the Goddess and went to find Gerret, Jonah and Rick.
She found Gerret outside, yelling for his magicians to strengthen the magical barrier and prepare for an assault. Quarna looked out over the battlefield and gasped. The two juvenile dragons were being released from their bonds, shooting skyward in glee at the carnage before them.
"Where did he get Dragons!" Quarna yelled, more of a statement then query.
~*~*~ The Prince grinned wickedly as he watched his ace in the hole soar skyward, screaming their defiance at the sky. The two drakes had been a stroke of luck. When a patrol came down from the northern mountains with the two fiery beasts in tow, the Prince new how he would stop the Gryphons and their riders. Dragons made excellent gryphon hunters.

(Ought-oh spagetti oh...) Rick caught a glimpse of something flying in the sky out of the corner of his eye and looked up, which he planned to do only for a mere moment before actually gawking up at it. He could only hope that Jonah didn't try to actually hurt him while he was ocupied by these dragons. Wait...Dragons?!?!?!?! "Where the hell did they come from?" he asked no one in particular.
Maniah nodded and found a chain that could fit around her neck before slipping the vile onto it. At this moment it was more like a choker than anything. "Qui, if you could I'd like to be turned into a cat, but afterwards, will you do me a favor and tighten this to the cat sized neck I'll wind up with?" she asked him. If not, it wouldn't look even remotely like a collar and she'd trip over it.

Jonah looked up at the flying fireball makers and yelped. Dropping his sword. He'd read his mythology. Dragons _hunted_ gryphons. He turned to look at Sky. Her hackles were raised and she growled menacingly.
Killers, eggstealers, murderers, bastards! She shouted in his mind. He covered his ears at the mental sound.
"What do we do about them?" Rick was saved answering because Quarna cam barging in in her battle reaglia.
"Mount your Gryphons. Its time you prove your mettle Riders. Those Dragons are young ones. I think with their riders your mounts could take them." She mounted the pied kudarung she had met last night. The saddle was mounted on the back side of the winged horse, behind the wing joints. Quarna swung up effortlessly, and kicked the mare into a gallop. "You can take 'em boys. Just remember, you're not two separate creatures, but one soul with your mount!" She called as the kudarung reached the outside spread its wings and took off.
The pied mare landed in front of Quarna's land force. Next to her on her right was her Uncle, in full suit armor. On her left, riding a piebald gelding was Gerret, his magical god-given sword unsheathed. Quarna noched an arrow to her bowstring. The mare reared as she yelled, releasing the arrow into the mass of enemies.
"FOR TORVAL!" She called as the arrow took down a demon. She noched another arrow as her mount took to the skies again.

Rick mounted his own gryphon directly after putting his sword back in it's sheath. He noticed Jonah still staring up at the sky and got off. No one knew what was going to happen after this. He moved Jonah's face to face him before kissing him deeply. After it was over he looked down at him. "I just want you to know, that whatever happens, Jonah, I love you." he told him before turning away after a moment of staring deeply into his eyes and mounted the gryphon once more. Okay Orin buddy, we have to do this and become one, so that's EXACTLY what we're going to do, got it? Orin seemed to nod before looking over at Sky, awaiting for her so they could fly up together.

(OOC: OMG its a reply! I'm not sure how I feel about Darkness. Still brain blocked on that one Steph, sorry.)
The battle raged on. Men and women on both sides fell to the will of war. The cruel master of the battlefield enjoying its bloodbath. The Trickster's people continued to loose ground against the Goddesses fighters. Demons fell left and right as they died from Maniah's poisons. Gerret and his mages took out heads of the ranks of demons, fighting to gain the upper hand.
Quarna looked up to see Sky and Orin rage battle against the young dragons. The sinewy scaled creatures wrapping long serpentine bodies around the feathered gryphon bodies. She took one look and drew a special arrow from her quiver. It's fletching glinted in the late afternoon sun. They were made of a rare feather that, when aimed at the proper spot, killed dragons on sight. Quarna nocked the arrow and let fly.
Her aim was true and a dragon fell from the sky onto ranks of its own fighters, crushing them under its immense bulk. The two gryphon's ganged up on the second dragon, darting about like finches against a hawk. Attacking its eyes and soft under belly.
The tide was turning and the Prince knew it. He turned his mount to run, only to be confronted by Quarna upon her Kudarung.
"This ends now." She said, drawing an elegant sword from her side.

Maniah was quite pleased with herself. She had managed to sucessfully poison numerous pieces of food and water and many had already dropped dead, literally. She continued on through the enemy camp occasionally stopping to add poison to this or that and soon ran out. She made her way back carefully, occasionally thinking of Faran but shaking her thoughts away to what lay ahead of her. This was war, she couldn't think of her love when trying to keep a straight mind on one thing...Which was poisoning the enemy. Rick let Orin do the flying while they both strategically made attacks. Orin attacked one eye, causing blood to sprout from it in a multitude of directions. Next he went for the under belly. Rick knew it wouldn't be long before this dragon was as good as dead and made the attacks wisely.

Sky dived and attacked the dragon from the back. Her claws raked down the beasts hard back, causing little damage.
We have to attack underneath. Jonah explained to his dragon. Sky merely cried her anger at the dragon.
I think I made it angry. Sky said in mock fear as she dove beneath the searching claws. Though they had blinded the dragon, it could still smell the gryphons. Sky dove around the dragon dodging claw and flame. She led his face away from her mate.
ORIN! ~*~*~*~
"This ends now." Quarna said calmly. The elegant sword between her fingers singing for bloodshed. The Princes blood of course.
"Now Quarna why does this have to end in bloodshed? We could rule the Kingdom together. You could be my Queen." His words seemed so light and soothing to Qaurna's ears. She lowered her blade. Maybe he was right. Maybe they could rule together. But then she saw past that madmans eyes. She saw the bloodshed he had caused. The pain. She saw Gerret, fighting off the magical barrage as best he could. She saw Jonah, flitting in and out around the dragon, Rick at his side. She saw Maniah, and Uncle, and Faran and all those people who meant so much to her in that moment and her face turned cold.
"We could..." she murmured in his ear, before she brought the sword up in a single swipe. "Or not." She told the Princes dead body.
It was as if the Princes army had waited for that moment. They broke up attacking each other, or shimmering out if they had the chance. Soon Quarna was left with an empty battlefield. They had one. Healers came out of the woodwork to help the wounded. Quarna saw Gerret, and her Uncle run up to her. She saw Sky and Orin begin a decent to the ground. A cat brushed up against her legs. The cat suddenly morphed into Maniah, naked and cold on the ground. Faran ran up to her and draped a long coat around her shoulders.
Soon she was surrounded by her command. Her Riders, such strong men now, they would lead the gryphons out of despair. They would find wild ones to breed with, and things would be great. Her uncle would be her chief adviser. Maniah could be the head of the armory if she wanted. Faran would become second in command to the Mages Guild, second only under Gerret. And Gerret, he would be her king, and Head of the Mages Guild. Quarna ran up to her lover putting her arms around his neck and kissing him soundly. He wrapped his arms around her waist and spun her around. She suddenly felt so childish.
"We did it." She said giddily.
~*~*~*~ OOC: Oh Em Gee! A reply. I was actually really excited to do this. But just a heads up after your reply theres going to be this big wedding scene and coronation thingie. Then its over, unless we want to do a sequel. I have plans in my head for something.... *runs off to plot*.

(Okays...So yeah...I DON'T think we're completely out of ideas yet so let's not call it ended okay? It's not just YOUR rp buddy. We both call when it's over TOGETHER. But yeah...For now here's what I got in reply to this.) Orin heard his mate's call and flew in midair for a second before zooming down towards the belly of the dragon and pecked and clawed at it with an unnormal ferociosity(sp?) and soon saw blood spilling out at the underbelly. Rick glanced over at Jonah, glad it was over. They had defeated the evil King...The war was over and now Quarna's Kingdom was once again her own. Rick went over to Jonah and kissed him. He had missed him even though they had faught side by side. Maniah looked over at Farran as she wrapped herself up in the coat Quarna had lent her and walked over to him, smiling. "We did it!!!" she exclaimed happily as she hugged him tightly.

There was much hugging and kissing all around as the Rebel's celebrated their return to power.
~*~ A few months later...
It seemed as if the entire Kingdom had turned out for this day. The servants had brought out extra chairs, and some people still had to stand. They all watched and waited for their Queen to show herself. Gerret stood up near th Goddess's Priestess, glancing nervously to the back of the hall. The Priestess smiled at his glance and he grinned back shakily.
In one of the Castles back rooms Jonah helped Quarna with the last part of her gown. The cloth was from the stores Quarna had gotten back on earth, so the comfort was unbelievable, but the style was much more what was expected of a Torvallan Queen. Jonah straitened a hem and stood to admire her in the mirror.
"You look amazing." He told her reflection, which mimicked Quarna's returning grin.
"Thanks, was it this hard for you?" She asked moving a strap of her bra so it fit better.
"Well yes and no. Yes it was just as nervewracking when Rick and I were confirmed." He remembered the day that Rick and himself were confirmed as the Heads of Her Majesties Riders. "And no because I didn't have to fit into a size 4." her light slap told Jonah he'd gotten the response he'd wanted.
"And besides, we weren't getting married." Jonah said with a slight pout. "Riders don't get married remember." Jonah sighed, even here the Powers were against him.
"Now you know it has nothing to do with your silly prejudices back on Earth." Quarna told him sternly. "When a female gryphon rises the rider has to be ready to accept whoever catches her. And if civil marriages were involved it'd just get so messy." She turned and gave him a big hug. "But I'm sure no one will catch Sky but Orin." The new batch of riders were growing up nicely. Quarna helped as much as she could, seeing as her Riders hadn't had much experience raising their mounts.
A footman knocked on the door and said quietly. "Its time My Lady." Quarna nodded and gave Jonah one last hug.
She met her Uncle outside the doors to the Great Hall. He smiled at her. "You ready?" He asked, she only nodded. He held out his arm and she took his elbow. With an almost inaudible creak the great doors opened inward and Quarna stepped out into the Hall.
Every window was open, and sprites flittered about the ceiling dropping rose petals. The smell of spring and new growth met Quarna's nostrils and she smiled. People cheered as they walked slowly down the aisle. It seemed to take forever, but finally Uncle handed Quarna off to her love. The Priestess smiled at the couple before raising her arms for silence.
"We are gathered here today, to not only bind these two peoples lives into one, but to also, before the Great Mother Goddess herself, crown this pair as our rulers." She paused.
"Are there any here who feel these two are unworthy for this service?" She asked, her voice carrying to the highest buttress. Silence greeted the hall. "Then by the power invested in me, by the Great Goddess herself. I crown these two as our Queen." She paused as she placed a silver tiara upon Quarna's brow. "And her King." Gerret had to duck to receive his silver crown, but he managed to look very gallant while doing it.
"And by that power I declare these two not only our High Rulers, but also husband and wife. To have and to hold, until death grips them both." Silence once again rang throughout the hall. "You may kiss the bride." The Priestess told Gerret. He smiled as he dipped Quarna off her feet and proceded to kiss her soundly. She wrapped a hand around his head and ran her fingers through his hair. Her crown fell from her head with a clatter that was barely heard amongst the cheering of the people, nobles and commonfolk a like. Someone began chanting.
"Long live the Queen! Long Live the King!" The chant roared out as atop the highest tower Sky and Orin bugled their agreement. The rightful line of Torval was restored to its Throne.
